ProjectCam privacy policy

Last updated:

ProjectCam does not collect any data. There is no account, no ProjectCam server, no analytics and no advertising. The developer cannot see your photos, projects, notes or locations.

Who we are

ProjectCam is published by Antoine Conan (RocketCode), an independent developer in France. Contact: contact@rocketcode.app.

What stays on your iPhone

Your projects, folders, photos, annotated copies, tasks, fields, notes, tags, activity log and settings are stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone. They are not sent to us or to anyone else.

Photos taken in ProjectCam are not added to your photo library. The app adds a copy to your library only when you tap Save to Photos.

iCloud Drive backup

Backup is off until you turn it on in Settings. When it is on, ProjectCam copies your projects and photos to the ProjectCam folder of your own iCloud Drive. Apple stores these files in your Apple Account, under Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to them.

Backups keep the last 7 versions of your projects. A photo that you delete stays in iCloud Drive until none of the last 7 backups contain it.

Location

If you give permission, ProjectCam saves where each photo is taken, so you can find photos by place. The location stays with the photo on your iPhone, and in your iCloud Drive backup if backup is on.

To show an address, the app sends the coordinates to Apple, which returns the address (Apple Maps reverse geocoding). Apple handles this request under its own privacy policy. We do not receive it.

You can turn off Save photo location in the app's Settings. Then the app does not track location, does not read the location of imported photos and does not look up addresses. You can also remove the permission in iOS Settings.

Camera, microphone and dictation

The camera is used only to take photos for your projects. The microphone and speech recognition are used only when you dictate a note. Dictation runs on your iPhone: the audio and the text are not sent to Apple or to us. If on-device dictation is not available for your language, dictation does not start.

Photos you import

When you import photos, the iOS photo picker gives ProjectCam only the photos that you select. The app does not read the rest of your library.

Exports and sharing

PDF reports, CSV files and ZIP archives are made on your iPhone. You choose where they go with the iOS share sheet. After you share a file, the app or the person that receives it handles it under their own terms.

Purchases

ProjectCam Pro is a subscription sold by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and your billing details. We do not receive your name, email address or payment information. The app checks your subscription status with Apple on your iPhone. You can manage or cancel the subscription in iOS Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions.

Problem reports

ProjectCam keeps technical crash and performance data from iOS on your iPhone. This data leaves your iPhone only if you tap Report a problem in Settings and then send the email yourself. The email goes to contact@rocketcode.app and contains: app version, iOS version, device model, memory and free storage, recent crash and performance diagnostics, and the names of recent technical events (for example "backup_written"). It contains no photos, no project content and no locations. You see the email before you send it. We use it only to fix the problem.

If you share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple can give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. This is controlled by Apple and by your iOS settings, not by ProjectCam.

No tracking

ProjectCam contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code. It does not track you across apps or websites.

Children

ProjectCam does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Deleting your data

Deleting a photo or a project in ProjectCam removes it from your iPhone. Deleting the app removes all its data from your iPhone. To delete your backups, delete the ProjectCam folder in the Files app (iCloud Drive) or in iOS Settings, under your name, iCloud, Manage Storage.

Your rights

We do not hold personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete, except emails that you send us. You can ask us to delete them at any time. You can also complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with a new date.
